Just wanted to shout out a HUGE Thank you! A while back our dishwasher was working, but wasn't cleaning as well, so I popped out all the pieces and cleaned out the filter and the propellers, and popped that white piece out to get all the way in there. When I put the white piece back in, I couldn't get it to actually click, but it was in the right way, so I just left it and put everything else together.
This issue was driving me nuts for the past 3 days. Couldn't figure out what the problem was. Changed pump, cleaned hoses, than replaced hoses...was about to give up and call a technician, than I came across your video and at first I couldn't believe this could be the solution. The plastic piece was kinda loose as you said but I pushed it til it was sealed on the hole. Restarted the cycle and low and behold it worked flawlessly. You're a hero and Bosch should definitely inform clients of this issue
Wow! I’d replaced the pump, check valve, you name it. Yeah, you can sorta skip to the end, but going through the iterations made me certain this was the same problem I was having. 5 extra minutes of patience and viola my Bosch is back up and running. Thanks a ton
Dude! I can’t thank you enough for this - I’ve replaced lots of parts, cleaned pipes, redone the drain line, and leveled the dishwasher - and son of a gun if this wasn’t the fix!
This video just saved me from buying a new dishwasher. I had the E24 and E 25 error codes. I cleaned out the drain, checked the impeller and pump. I replaced the pump and disconnected hose so it could drain directly from pump and still got the E24 error code. Most videos and websites said most likely control board if not the pump or overflow sensor. Then I searched the starting and stopping which lead me to this video. I reinstalled the white piece again and heard the little snap this time, and wahoo, all works again. I liked the repeatable test you did as I teach science. This summer I replaced the bearing in washing machine drum and thought this was going to be another big project. Thanks so much for sharing your discovery.
Man!!!! I never post, but I can't thank you enough. I've spent at least 4 hours working on it (cleaned up everything, took out the drain pump, measured impedances on the pump, one beer, read so many posts, more beer, lots of frustration). This fixed it. Amazing, why this piece of plastic caused the behavior it did, but it definitely fixed it.
Thank you. This worked! When I first got an E25 error, I followed other videos that had me clean out the filter and the area near the pump. That worked for a while but the error came back. I then took out that small part and cleaned some more. I switched the pump. Again it worked for a while but the error came back sporadically. I kept cleaning the area around the pump but never fully got rid of the error. Once I saw your video I realized that the symptoms the dishwasher had were exactly what you described. I had not fully clicked the part into place. Once I did, it worked again.
CRAZY that the water pump failing is caused by whether this little clip is inserted correctly or not. This is what fixed my issue. Thank you. I almost had to call a repair man because I couldn't figure out what was wrong. I would have been SO upset if he had clicked this clip into place and then charged me $150 for a service fee.
Yes! It worked. Pull your filter out, remove the filter screen. This “cover” is in the drain area. Mine has a small screw that holds it in place. I had removed the part to change out my check valve. I either didn’t line it up correctly when replacing it or bumped it when I replaced the drain pump. New impeller, new seals, new check valve, and a new drain pump....my 15 yr old dishwasher works like new again! Thank you.
You sir are a rockstar! Thank you so much for this info saved me a boatload of money!!
Hey thank you so much, that plastic piece got bumped when we cleaned the filter and the pump would not run, after reseating it worked like a charm. Thanks again!
Have to say you saved me from buying a new pump today. Thank you for the share.
Thank you so much. Ours ran for about 15 mins then stoped again, I repeated the process and it’s been running for 25 mins now.
Trivia fact: I tried draining with the said plastic part removed from the machine, and the water was just spinning around in that sink hole. Nothing went out. I opened the dishwasher while the pump was running, and saw the water in motion, all still there.
If you turn off power and just hold up the float, the pump will run. just a heads up. Good video and I hope this is the fix for mine. Thanks!
Omg wow! Thanks so much!!
THANIK YOU!! I just found this video -- unfortunately after I spent the money to have a new pump shipped (but at least didn't go for the motherboard, too), having received no response whatsoever from Bosch Canada. I had exactly this issue -- but I can't say that there was ever any kind of :audble ":click:", rather with a LOT of trial and error there was one time the clip went in and seated itself firmly (I don't know that I could ever replicate it) -- and now it works and I have a spare pump. I can't believe Bosch doesn't have a nice little service announcement about this or ship a little note with the machines.
I dunno if you are still active or read comments, but holy shit. You saved me a bunch of money because you mentioned that plastic thing. I checked it and now my dishwasher is working again.
Lesson learned from that video. If you remove the little plastic pump cover and test your dishwasher without it... wont work... pump doesnt seems to pump normally. Put it back.... and that it. I had issue of the dishwasher not draining and stopping 5 beeps. I did cleaned the filter and drain area and that wasnt sufficiant. I then removed the moter plastic cover and the turn the pump manually. Then tought to test without puting everything back... error... reassemble everything and then... test :) it sounds ridiculous that this plastic cover shouldnt change anything... but it does!
Thanks. The lesson for me is that if the "Bosch Dishwasher Drain Pump Lid Cover" doesn't audibly "click" into place, it will wiggle loose again soon and fail to complete cycle due to failure to drain.
