First, you need to align the blade to the miter gauge slots. After that you can adjust the fence to the blade. Also, never let go of a piece while it's between the blade and fence while the blade is still turning. That's a perfect storm for kickback. That's the cause for most table saw injuries.
I have a similar saw, a couple of years older I think.
That was an AMAZING restoration!
Hi, great job! I've the same exact model, any idea to register the fence properly? Mine has a little play on the tip, 1/8 off.
Great job guys.
I have an older Delta contractor saw and I flipped it upside down to seal it for dust collection mod - when I put it back up right the blade was out of alignment about 1/8 inch- I lossen the four Trunnion bolts and got some play/wiggle room and adjust it but soon as I tighten it up it goes right back out of wack- any suggestions?
I just got the same table saw. I think I need to replace the bearing as well. Can you share the specs?
I have two of them, one is a 120 volt that I bought from Sears, and the other is 220 and used to belong to Sam Posey, the race car driver. he gave it to my SIL and my SIL gave it to me after he left it outside and damn near ruined it. I cleaned it up and use it all the time.
good work looking good. make more videos.
Stop calling those aluminum belt drive pulleys "gears"! Gears have teeth and aren't smooth with a "V" groove in the center. Nice restoration on the old saw! As suggested below, you need to align the blade parallel to the miter slot. It is very important for safety reasons!
Looks great but why didn’t you get the rust off the bottom of the table?
I have a few comments/questions:
Can you share what you used to clean the top? An orbital sander? What grit or was it a buffer pad? Awesome end result though thanks for sharinf
What grit sandpaper did you use?
How did you install the fence?
When using these saws, invest in a Grrr-Ripper, especially if you're running without a splitter. They're pricey, but a bargain when it comes to some damn decent finger insurance.
What is the belt part number and where to you buy it from?
I have the same model. Mine won’t turn on. Do you have an idea on how to fix it? It was working up until my 2nd cut. Then it didn’t turn on after.
They belt is not driven by gears. the belt is driven by pulleys.
Nice job. Looks like the belt guard is on backwards, and the things you replaced that the belt goes around are pulleys not gears.
